Rocio Muñiz Anquela

Ph.D. Student

Rocio graduated in Medical Biology at Alcalá University, Spain in 2015. During her Bachelor's, she moved to Amsterdam to complete her degree at Vrije University where she also conducted a Master's in cardiovascular research.


During her Masters, she did an internship in atherosclerosis research at CNIC and in Type 1 diabetes at the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) in Miami.


She graduated as Cum laude in 2017, started her Ph.D. under the “la Caixa” fellowship at Jacob Bentzon’s lab. Her research focuses on the study of the LDL interactors in the arterial wall.


Next to research, she does ballet and modern dance and skiing.
