Julián Albarrán Juárez

Assistant Professor

Julian performed his Ph.D. at the University of Freiburg in Germany and spent several years as a postdoc and then as a project leader at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research.

 

He joined Bentzon’s lab in 2018 where he works as an Assistant Professor. His research interests are to understand vascular smooth muscle phenotypic modulation in atherosclerosis and developing new methods for exploring the interaction between cells, surrounding tissues and mechanical forces in vascular diseases.

 

Outside of the lab, Julian enjoys photography, traveling and spending time with his family.
