Esmeralda Armando Lewis

Ph.D. Student

Esme is a Ph.D. researcher in Jacob Fog Bentzon’s lab. She focuses on the pre-lesional phase of atherosclerosis, with a particular interest in the dynamics of low-density lipoproteins accumulation. She’s an en face confocal microscopy and infrared aortic scanning fan.

Esme was born in Atlanta, but she grew up in a small town in Tuscany. In Italy, she obtained a BSc in Biotechnology (University of Perugia) and an MSc in Molecular Biotechnology (University of Torino).

When she’s not thinking about science, she’s most probably thinking about her next trip to some remote part of the world.
