Charlotte Brandt Sørensen

Associate Professor

Charlotte obtained her Ph.D. from Aarhus University and has previously worked as an Assoc. Professor at the Dept. of Biomedicine, AU.

Via her work on gene editing technologies and modeling human diseases in large animal models, Charlotte and Jacob initially teamed up to create atherosclerosis models in pigs and are now sharing lab facilities. Besides modeling atherosclerosis-related diseases in pigs, the collaboration focuses on exploring the role of vascular smooth muscle cells in atherosclerosis development.

Outside the lab, Charlotte enjoys running and hiking in nature.
